Privacy policy

This policy explains what data this website collects, what we use it for and what you can do with it. It follows Panama's Law 81 of 2019 on personal data protection and its regulation, Executive Decree 285 of 2021.

Who is responsible for your data

Fabián Espil, who operates under the trade name FE Realtor, is the controller of your data.

What data we collect

What you give us when you request information about a project or book a VIP consultation:

  • Your name, your email address and your phone number.
  • If you request information about a project, which one it is and, if you chose one, the unit you are interested in.
  • If you book a VIP consultation, what you answer about your move: when you plan to move, whether you are moving with school-age children, whether you are already in Panama and your approximate budget.

In addition, the provider that hosts the site records technical data from each visit, such as the IP address and the browser, so the site works and is protected against abuse. We do not use those records to identify you.

The forms use a verification service from the same provider, which checks that the sender is a person and not a program. To do that it checks your IP address and technical data from your browser on the pages that have a form. It is used only to protect the form.

Google Analytics and the Meta pixel record how you use the site: which pages you visit, where you came from, your device type and your approximate location, at city level. To do that they set cookies in your browser. Meta also records when you submit a form, to measure our ads. We do not send either of them your name, your email or your phone number, or what you type in the form. If you turn off cookies in the Cookies section, they stop recording your visit.

What we use it for

To answer your request: write to you by WhatsApp, phone or email, send you the project information, set up your video call and prepare a list of projects that fit what you are looking for.

If you asked for information, we may also write to you by email, phone and WhatsApp to follow up on that request, and you can ask us to stop at any time. We do not sell or rent your data, and we do not use it to send you advertising emails or messages you did not ask for. We also do not make automated decisions with it.

We use Google Analytics data to know how many people visit the site, where they come from and how many end up requesting information, so we can improve it. We use the Meta pixel data to measure the results of our ads on Facebook and Instagram and to show FE Realtor ads to people who visited the site. Meta handles that data under its own privacy policy.

On what basis we use it

With your consent, which you give by ticking the box on the form before sending it, and to take the steps before a possible purchase that you yourself asked for. The Analytics and Meta cookies are turned on when you enter the site, and you can turn them off whenever you want in the Cookies section of this page.

You can withdraw your consent at any time by writing to us. That does not affect what was already done with your data before you withdrew it.

Who we share it with

Your data goes through the services we use to run the site and handle your request:

  • The provider that hosts the site, which receives the form and protects it from automated submissions.
  • The contact management platform (CRM) where we keep your contact details and follow up on your request by WhatsApp, phone and email.
  • Our email provider, from which we answer requests.
  • Google Analytics, which measures visits to the site.
  • Meta (Facebook and Instagram), which measures the results of our ads with its pixel.

These companies may store information on servers outside Panama, mainly in the United States. By sending us your request you accept that transfer, which Law 81 allows with your consent.

If you ask for information about a project, we may share your name and contact details with the developer of that project, only to handle your request. Beyond that, we would share your data only if a competent authority requires it by law.

How we protect it

The site uses an encrypted connection, and access to your data is limited to our team and the services listed above.

How long we keep it

If you buy with us, for as long as the relationship lasts and for the time that accounting and tax laws require. If we do not end up working together, we delete your data 24 months after our last contact. You can ask us to delete it sooner.

Google Analytics keeps visit data for 14 months. Meta keeps its own data under its own policy.

Your rights

You have the right to:

  • Access: know what data of yours we have and ask for a copy.
  • Rectification: correct it if it is wrong or incomplete.
  • Cancellation: ask us to delete it.
  • Objection: object to our using it for a given purpose.
  • Portability: receive it in a commonly used format to take it elsewhere.

To exercise them, write to fespil@ferealtorpty.com from the email you used in your request, or tell us how to verify that it is you, and tell us what you need. We reply within the deadlines set by Law 81.

If you are not satisfied with our reply, you can file a complaint with the National Authority for Transparency and Access to Information (ANTAI), which oversees compliance with the law.

Cookies

This site uses Google Analytics and Meta cookies from your first visit:

  • _ga and _ga_… (Google Analytics): tell one visit from another to count visitors. They last up to 2 years.
  • _fbp (Meta): identifies your browser to measure the results of our ads. It lasts up to 3 months.
  • _fbc (Meta): saved only if you arrived from a Meta ad, to know which one it was. It lasts up to 3 months.
  • fr (Meta): set by Facebook from its own domain when the site loads the pixel, to measure and show ads. It lasts up to 3 months.

You can turn them off here whenever you want; your choice is saved in your browser and deletes the ones this site has already set. With cookies turned off, the site stops loading the pixel. The fr cookie lives on facebook.com: it is deleted from your browser or from your Facebook account.

Analytics and Meta cookies are turned on in this browser.

Minors

The site is aimed at adults who plan to buy or move to Panama. We do not knowingly collect data from people under 18.

Changes to this policy

If we change something, we publish it on this page with a new update date.
